Series II L67 Grand National??!!??

I think a 109 will take 600 rwhp all day now. Anyway what are you putting out for power now ? Any drag strip results ?

He did about 20 pages ago. Right in Chody's sig line though - "'85 Grand National--L67 swap--TE60+17psi = 11.357@121.40 (517whp)"

I remember him saying it was hardly tuned at that stage. He also said he didn't have to put in a whole lot of money to get this project done because he sold off a bunch of 109 stuff, and it doesn't take a stack of cash to get 3800 stuff from the bone yard. Nice things about the 3800 are how stout they are (I've heard 8's with stock bottom), you can grab another for $500 if you blow it up, and the heads flow a lot of air. This is just all stuff I read though.

Cant give new dyno numbers or track numbers yet, but this car is a different animal from the 517whp pulls. That was different turbo, dp, intercooler, tune, timing, etc.

I am dialed in at 21psi with the 6266, my 95lb injectors are tapped, and I am running my meth now just to keep up. It is easily sitting around 650whp now. I am hunting for injectors and possibly a new turbo to turn up the wick and see what this block will take.

Been 10 years of constant beating, and it is still hanging on... Once i get my new suspension on, i might take it to track pending texas heat in early summer. Just need the right day to go.

Valid points here. The only time it went to the track was the day after completing the build, on gas. Tuning in between runs just to finish up the base tune.

It has been a long road, but finally getting around to the items I had to neglect for years. Drive-ability is completely docile and has daily driver qualities. More than just the power, the car is just nice to drive around now. Likely beat on this setup for the remainder of this year, and refresh the engine over winter. Looking at turbo's now... havent decided on BW, Precision, or just ordering the larger turbine for mine now...

Any updates on this build? I still see a lot of L26 and even several L67's in the parts yard. With all the LS swaps it seems these engines are skipped over by swappers.

Well I think it takes the same amount of effort to swap in an L26 or L67. There's also much more support for the LS engines. If I had not spend the house rebuilding my 109 and 200 4R I would've definitely went with the 3800 series II/III block and the 4L60 trans. My engine builder is also a great fabricator and he could've done the entire swap for me.
