Who does the 218/224 hyd roller grind and who puts together the best roller "kit?"

What spring and installed height would be requred for a roller cam and up to .520" on a ported iron? on GN1R's?

I currently Run CC980's at 1.63" and am at .456" on a 212/212 tappet w/ stock 1.55 rockers. I need more lift for my combo. If i just wanted to go for a set of roller rockers at this point, what would I need to change if i went to a 1.65 w/ THIS cam and my irons?

So basically, since I'm too cheap to do the roller cam for the next few months and no one is buying my car, what would the 1.65 rollers put me at w/ the 212/212 .456" tappet cam and would I need a spring or inst. height change?

Then, later on, I'll go to a 218/224 roller and GN1's and put this stuff in my other car.

TIA,

John

.485 approx.

.485" w/ 1.65's? Thats not bad.

I think I am good to .500 w/ this spring at this height, does that sound right?

Thanks,

John

I could be wrong, but I believe myself and 2 other friends locally are the only ones I know of running the 218-224.
It is a custom grind from Comp. I use Comps. 941 spring (135 closed seat pressure @ 1.70 installed height. With T&D 1.55 rockers there will be .510 intake and .521 exhaust lift. Both my friends use a Crane spring for an LS1. It is a little stronger.
Iron heads will have to have the guides cut down to prevent retainer to guide interference.

Thanks Lee,

I take it you like the grind well, overall? Are you using it w/ irons or GN1's? Is there a PN#?

Thanks,

John

yes!!yes!!!yes!!!

Of the 3 that I know of, all are with iron heads. This cam is a killer. My friend has a program that we used. Of all the Comp profiles that we entered, this one made the most power. Pulls hard to 6000, maybe more, haven/t taken any of them over 6. All of these cars shift @ 57-5800
Part # 67-000-9
