Need a shift cable for my buick we4. Are there any other cars I can steal one off that will work? Does it matter if its colum or floor?

Any other G-body with floor shift and 4 speed auto. (IIRC, there are 2 cables, one for 3 speed auto and one for 4 speed auto)

Column shift g bodies have a mechanical linkage.

That cable is only used on Regal and Cutlass with the 200-4R trans. Chevy and GP are different. And THM200/350 are different. Stupid question? Why go used when you can still buy a new one from a vendor or a GM dealer. It could be kind of hard finding that exact cable in the boneyard.

Then there are 3 different part numbers?

3 speed (TH350C, TH200M)
4 speed (TH200-4R) B, O
4 speed (TH200-4R) C, P

got the GM numbers for them?

Looks like its 4 different cables.
Buick and Olds are Regal and Cutlass
Chevy and Pontiac are MC,ElCamino,Malibu,RWD Bonneville,LeMans and GP
B-0 200-4R 25537476
B-O 200/250/350 22500579
C-P 200-4R 10026082
C-P 200/250/350 22500581

damn.. now I gotta go look thru all of my old used cables... and figger out the differences...

From what I can tell the big difference is where the cable goes through the hole in the shifter and trans brackets. The area where those U-shaped clips hold it on. The B-O is bigger IIRC.

Eric, I'll see what I have and snap some pics for reference
