Shift Kit or Not?

Having problems with car shifting as posted earlier. Took pan off the other night to find alittle trash. Governor spring looked o.k.
My ? is, the guy I bought my car from said that he installed a shift kit. Not sure what kind. Well, I noticed that no holes had been drilled and not really sure of a spring change even though spring did have alot of pressure. Is there a way to tell if one has been installed. Car is back shifting O.K. for now but still not firm enough on WOT. It's only short shifted through the gears one time since I've been driving it.

What's everyones suggestions on a certain shift kit?

Bruce's kit

Had it installed in my 85 GN tranny and it barks 'em under part throttle. It also comes with a pre-drilled spacer plate, so if you don't like it, you can take the kit back out and put your other plate back in. Easy to install from what I've heard.
