shift point adjustment

Can the shift points be adjusted by repositioning the TV cable? It shifts around 3500 - 4000 rpm and is a pretty hard shift. This is great for aggressive driving, but when I am just cruising around town I don't like to draw attention to myself by driving at high rpms and barking the tires on the 1-2 shift. I was told by the previous owner that it does have shift kit, so I realize the shifts will be somewhat harsh, but I would like to improve the driveability of the car. Any suggestions?

You can loosen the adjustment on the T.V. cable one click at a time to soften the shift to your preference. It will also make the trans shift a little earlier. Depending on what mods were put in the trans will affect the results of the adjustment.

Does it shift at 35-4000 at P/T? Something's not right if it does.
