SHIFTER CABLE WORN THRU

My 87 GN shifter cable has rubbed on the trans and now needs to be replaced. About 1 inch of the inner teflon liner is exposed (cut down the cable strands). Is there a vendor offering these or is fabbing a morse cable my only option. Has this happened to anyone else? Any input would really be appreciated. Thanks
