I believe using a shipping skid with it strapped down to it with metal strapping surrounded by a plywood box would be the best and safest way.

Wooden runners along the sides of both wheels too.

The shipping might be cheaper than the packing however. ;)

Just my .02, I've seen it done never done it myself. :)

Isn't there a freight company that gives TB.com members a discount on rates? Used to be a sticky........

Did you look into the rail? I've had some people I know ship across the state using one of the rail companies....but that is about all I can do for you :(

Might be cheaper than freight and likely to be less "risky" for the package.

I wish I could sell my bike this time of year!(Honda CBR 600). Winter is coming and I need a 4x4!

There is a link in the auction above that may give you some insight into motorcycle shippers. I have "heard" that Forward Air is good (I have not used them). You can get free online quotes from them and they have a hub in Seattle. Here is their website: Forward Air

wow--forwardair is pretty cheap and they provide the shipping container:cool:

The buyer is paying shipping and arrangeds today for it to be sent by fedex:eek: --if something falls through with fedex--i will surely use forwardair.

As far as selling it in the winter--just put a reasonable price on it and put it on e-bay---i am convinced you can sell ANYTHING on there---it is crazy.Although the buyer of this bike will be VERY happy--he got a hell of a bike for $7k---easily worth the money.

Thanks for all the help.
