Short Spring Syndrome?

Anybody know what the heck Bowtie Overdrives is talking about when they say you must put a longer spring in the valve body when using one of their TV made EZ kits if your transmission was built by somebody other than them? Do they use a different length TV cable?

Yes, BTO's TV/ThrottleValve spring is longer and is required if you use their TVMadeEasy Kit.

If you were to use a system other than theirs you would not have to do change those springs? That leads me to a couple of other questiions......

1. Where is a good source for a geometry correcting adapter for Demon carb that will give the proper geometry for the tv to work properly?

2. What length cable is correct for a 2004R in a 1969 Camaro? Is length of cable critical?

Other TV setups don't normally require changing the TV spring. There are many different length springs, so it's a wait & see kinda thing. If the Line pressure rise with Throttle movement is good it should be fine. BTO's & JakesPerformance's site have Info on pressure testing/TV cable adjusting.

The Geometry corrector for Holley 4100 series carbs fits the Demon. Summit Racing SUM-700202 - Summit Racing® Throttle Valve Correctors - Overview - SummitRacing.com

TV cable for a G-Body car should work, 85-88 SSMonte etc...

This TV Bracket may work with the Demon, the small Tang may need to be bent/removed. Holley 20-95 - Holley Throttle Cable Brackets - Overview - SummitRacing.com there're also Universal Brackets but, most are flimsy & flex too much without reinforcement.

Q-Jet carbs also have different throttle linkage Stud placement/location for Detent cable "TH350" and TV cables "TH2004R/TH700R4.

Thanks for the replies. I wonder if a stock turbo 350 kickdown cable bracket will work. The one that bolts to the intake manifold using two of the intake bolts to hold it in place.

Possibly, it will need to be modified, the hole where the cable locks/snaps in on a Detent cable bracket is much smaller compared to a TV cable bracket. Some brackets don't have enough material to enlarge the hole and retain strength.
