Last night I woke up to the barking of my dogs at 3 a.m. when I took a peek out of my window I see someone in my garage with a flashlight, so I head outside with my 38 and as soon as I turned the corner to go to the back, one guy takes off runing the other was still in garage hiding. I turned the lights on and a black masked person runs toward me with the pipe to my cherry picker. I let the s.o.b. have it twice in the belly. They got away and the police are checking hospitals for this guy. I got very lucky he didnt lay me down or even get in my house. I wish I knew who it was, ill probably find out soon. My nerves are efing with me

Yikes! What did the cops have to say about you shooting a guy? Glad you're ok!

Glad you are ok. Wow after two shots the guy still got away. I'm sure he is not feeling good today having some slugs in his stomach. Good work. Thieves suck and another one for the good guys.

Keep us posted, curious how this works out.

Glad to hear you're OK....obviously this guy posed a threat and you handled it. Well done.

Not really a time for jokes.
If you haven't already, contact a lawyer Now. You've got to CYA. An anti-gun D.A. might decide to make an example of you.
You just never know.
Also, ask the police who they talk to when they're involved in a shooting. Got to keep your head on straight. It will mess with your head. Especially if the guy doesn't make it to the hospital.

Best of Luck to you.

Just remember one very important thing... it's how you articulate your story. If you say you shot him and he ran, that's no good. But if your in fear of your life as he came at you with a metal pipe, then that's different. Makes a big difference if they catch this guy and an interview has to be done.

You might want to think about rewording your first post.

2- .38's to the gut, and he kept on running... High on something. Especially at close range, in a bldg no bigger than a shop.
GL with a resolution.

Well glad u popped the dirt bag either way. I have no love for a thief.
Were they FMJ or JHP rounds?
Too bad it wasnt a 12 gauge slug.
And i concur make darn sure you have your self defense side wrapped tight.

They broke into his house and were on his property. I would think he has the right to defend himself with any means. On top of it he was rushed by one of them armed with a pipe. I'm glad everything worked out. If he walked out their empty handed it could have ended in tragedy.

I'm definitely interested to see how this plays out for you. Keep us in the loop as much as you can! FWIW, I've heard quite a few other 1st & 2nd hand stories about .38 shots not putting the person down...

It's easy to say/type that you can actually shoot another person, but a whole different story when you're put into the situation.

In hate that you had to do this, understand I am not a bit sorry for the POS. But pulling the trigger is something
you always want to be ready and able to do but pray you don't ever have to... Anyone who doesn't believe this has
never had to. If you feel you need to talk to some one ask for help soon.

Sorry bro
