will getting power logger make my car less of a night mare.
i am currently chassing knock 4.2 deg 02 mil is 820 ish at this point but some times 750 same amount of knock
is it really worth the 265 dollars can you use the lap to to actually adjust parameters with the tt chip instead of the stupid pump the peddle

here's my set up
mild build 3.8 port and polish port match
mild stroke
mild cam cam
lt1 maf 3.5 inch
tin man intake
modified stock turbo
modified intercooler
3 inch dp dual 3 inch exhaust
tt chip street 19 psi on spiked 91 octane (aprox 96 octane)

Yes, you should get the PowerLogger. The Powerlogger only shows data/records data and can help you find what may be out of range or where the knock is occurring, engine operation or chip setting changes are not made trough it. Find a screen shot in some of the post to see what the PL monitors.

And you can use PL to change chip parameters "instead of the pump the stupid pedal"!!!! LOL

Found it on the last page, nice feature that I was unaware of. Thank's Dan for finding that.

Have you checked WOT fuel pressure and your spark plugs?

my plugs are good and my fuel pressur gos up 1 for 1
after some reasearch and listing with a screwdriver here is what i have found
number 2 cylender(front pasanger side) valve train very loud at idel meaning at wot it must be even loader
and water pump is making a hell of a noise as well i am gonna start with changing the water pump next week end when it commes in from rock auto and wire wheeling all the pullies
next step will be swaping to a 160 t stat just for good measure will the cooling system is all opened up
next i will adjust the rockers se if noise persits if it dos i guess il do springs and rocker arms (do heads have to come off on are application)

on a scary note took it for a high way rip at wot 18 psi 3rd im getting 14.3 deg retard and 745 o2 mill but no loose of power which is leading me to belive it is false knock

The simple answer to your question is a big YES!

It is amazing how well the stock computer can still work well with our cars, but there is one big item lacking and that is data. :)

The PL, especially with a wide band tied into it, can prevent lots of expensive damage that most times is due to lack of data?

The refinement and mods that Bob Bailey and Eric have done with the stock computer add-ons recently is amazing, and if you are looking more HP they have an excellent and safe alternative to a complete aftermarket computer/wiring harness that will make your life easier, and will be less expensive than potential damage because of lack of data and precise tuning. :D

Ask yourself, how can you really "tune", without the proper data? Do you trust your guess on false knock?

If you're showing KR on the scanmaster, then the ECM is retarding timing. If timing is retarded and you feel no loss of power, then something HAS to be going on.

seems that my water pump pullie is moving around alot and making a clunk and squell so im gonna swap it for a new hd one i have on the way and will go from there
