Has anybody had any problems with the Shureflo pumps that Razor supplies with his kit? I've had a Standard Alky kit for over a year and in the past month it has started leaking at the diapharm to motor housing.

At the black plastic to metal connection. The screws aren't lose or anything. I'm guessing the alky just ate through it. I've used nothing but Denatured alky since i can't get Meth locally.

I was just curious to know if anybody has had the same issues with these pumps?

The diaphram is what seals to the upper housing. If it shrunk a little due to the alcohol possibly drying it out.. it may leak. Easy fix.. take the 6 screws off, and on a flat surface with some sandpaper take a few thousandths off..clean the housing and diaphram..re-assemble.. done. Kinda the same way an oil pump cover is surfaced for our motors.

If not sure how to do this.. send me the pump head.. i'll redo it for you, pressure test it.. and get it back to you..

I dont MFG the pumps .. but as time goes I learn a lot from selling them. I especially learn a lot from how theyre subjected to different alcohols what happens/can happen.

There are some updates that probably should be performed to yours to bring it up to date. I cannot go over whats done exactly on-line as I have competition using the same pumps.. and they are eager to learn as well.

My goal is have a pump that lasts a few years.. we'll get there.. it will be nice. Warranty is one year on the system.. more than most guys selling these kits which only offer a 90 day. I believe what i'm doing today Oct 26,2005 should hit that goal.

If I knew a year ago what I know today ;) Guess its like computers.. they keep making them faster and faster.. upgrading/making them better.

There are no updates to the controller.. same design has been working flawless last 2.5 years.

If you need to get a new pump, get one from northern tool and pay the extra 4 bucks for the 2 year warranty.

Yeah i read it, it was post #2 which was after post # 1 and before Post #3 which was my post. Did you read it? I was just stating that if he ever needed a new pump to get one with a 2 year warranty instead of razor's 1 year. Depending on what he is going to keep running he should do the update. Just letting him know where he can get one with a longer warranty.
