ive heard of people siliconing up the t-tops, but my question is should i do it to a moonroof car? i know they are pretty rare and my car is in really nice condition, but the moonroof leaks and anytime i get a lil rain i get water in the back seat. its becomming impossible to get any answers on how to get it fixed the right way, and from what i hear id need to drop the headliner and everything. also, i kinda hate cars with sunroofs and id never ever use it......is it total blasphamy to silicone up a 87 gn with a factory moonroof?

DON'T DO IT!! I would check with Brian at Gbodyparts.com and see what solution he has for your problem. A good buddy of mine also has a 87 GN with the moonroof option and it was leaking too, and his car only has 23,000 miles on it!!

He had a friend of his pull the headliner replace the seals and it did not leak again. But he needed a new headliner because all of the water that leaked onto it. I don't know if there is a drain on the sunroof pan or not.

Yeah it might cost a little money but I would make sure its done right because a GN with a moonroof is a rare option.

You might need to take your headliner out and look at the astro-roof and drain hoses. Remember the astro-roof is just a large pan with four houses on it that drain the water to the door hinge area and through the trunk to the lower rear quarter panel in front of the rear tires. Which ever side is collecting water the hose might be pinched or craked, if it is it then you may solve your problem.

ok ok, ill give it a few more days but its frustrating having a nice car i cant even wash causeof a clogged moonroof line, im about ready to seal it up for good
