Simple 200r4 question........

I was prepping a 200r4 rebuilt transmission I recently purchased to swap a powerglide & I noticed the output shaft had considerable play in it, up, down or sideways, but not in and out. Is this normal, or signs of a problem???? I got it for a real good price. Did I get burned, instead??? I've been told on this site that it is from a '88 Delta 88. I'd sure appreciate any opinions from you experts......

The output shaft movement is normal. When installed in the car, it gets supported by the driveshaft yoke.
