I was asking myself the same thing? I only have dark background on my phone (looks great ), and array of colors on my laptop with a dull white background ?

Select "Dark"

Hit Save.

I think the new site in black is tits. Looks awesome.

That worked , Thanks for the step by step info... What's strange when the site made the appearance changes ,my phone reframed to
to dark mode and my laptop to white mode. seems that both devices would have been set on same color background ?
