I registered here over a year ago but never really posted since I didnt have a TR and everytime I came here just made it worse.

Now that I am picking up a GN on Saturday my need for boost will be fulfilled and I will be on here more getting tech info and just hanging out.

My title is Resident Lurker because thats what I used to do. In the past couple of weeks I have brought that post count up which looks like I post more than lurk.

Should I just erase the title or put something else in there. My title on other threads is "Im boosted again" with this hyper little smiley jumping up and down. Dont know what I would put here though.

Suggestions?

This is one of the more fun parts of assembling your identity, just have fun with it. It doesn't have to make sense or even be accurate. Mine's the title of a Fear Factory song.

Fear Factory rocks, my current favorite song by them is Replica.

'Replica', 'Edgecrusher', etc. these are the more 'poppy' songs of theirs.....they get way better. Check out 'Pisschrist', 'Securitron', 'Martyr', etc.

Hmmm, I dont really consider them poppy but more like radio rock. Thanks for the suggestions though, I will check them out.

Whats odd is right now my playlist went to another FF song, Hurt Conveyer. Probably another "poppy" song to you. :)

Actually FF and Pantera are some of the lightest stuff I listen to. I am really into spped/death/thrash metal and listen to bands like Krisiun or With Dead Hands Rising to get a good rush going for work or racing or what ever.

If your a fan of death type metal you should check with with dead hands rising. They are extremely melodic while at the same time crushing your ear drums. Its a good mix of rock and death metal, in fact, I am gonna jump to Tourniquet Girl right now.

Any good shows lately? A while back I saw the Jagermeister tour in Mesa, AZ (Slipknot, FF, Chimaira, Hemlock) and in a few weeks in Albuquerque I'm seeing Soulfly, FF, Ill Nino and Mastodon. I was huge into the death when I was a kid (when it was still a fresh genre) and I've seen Obituary, Morta Skuld, Afterlife, Morgue, Soulstorm and the like. Of those old bands, I still listen to alot of their old stuff. Vintage My Dying Bride, Cynic, CC and stuff. Don't forget FF's first album, 'Soul Of A New Machine', probably the best death album ever.

I was supposed to see CC at First Avenue in Minneapolis a month or so back but that didnt pan out.

My problem is I only have one friend that likes the same music as me (my fiance likes rap and r&b). That one friend is always to broke to go to shows and I feel like I am getting to old to hang with the massive pits in todays concerts.

I will go to metal shows at Princes old club The Quest. They have a great stage and HUGE area to stand or sit in which makes it a bit more spacious and its still loud.

Yeah, I used to be a pit whore....I couldn't bring myself to ever get out of them. One time when seeing Deicide in Denver years ago, I was so proud that I broke a finger in the pit........nowadays, I'm too damned old for that ****. It's hard to admit it to yourself, but it does happen.

I just blame my job :D

I am to lazy to get up and work out and get into better shape which would give me more energy to play around in the pit.

Then again, I am 29 so maybe I should start working out. :o

I always had 'hammer and shovel' jobs for my whole life. Then I got this desk job about a year and a half ago and I just got fat and lazy. A while back I went and bought a whole new set of free weights and a new bottle of creatine and swore that I would get back into that as heavily as I once was. You wouldn't believe the dust on those weights.

It's cool to hear of a metal fan that is actually around my age. So many times nowadays I'm talking music with somebody and then they mention that they're like 17 and it pisses me off......I'm like 'Kid, I was listening to this stuff when you were crappin' yellow!'

I can usaually sniff the kids out of the threads. Just look for things like "Limp Bizkit ROCKS!" or "One Step Close by Linkin Park makes me wanna kick some ass!" Thats usually a kid, or an older guy trying to fit in with a metal crowd.

I was introduced to black/death metal when I was in the 6th grade and have always listened to it. I listen to a lot of othr stuff too but I still prefer to listen to downright heavy metal when I am alone in the car or have my headphones on.

Yep, once upon a time I was listening to a bunch of Pantera and Testament and whatnot and I read a review on Obituary's then new album Cause Of Death and knew I had to get it.....the rest is history, man.
