alrighty then-

9-11 convertor 36 lbs
precision single disc lockup 32 lbs
stock D-5 46 lbs

aluminum core support 13 lbs
stock metal core support 30 lbs

chrome front bumper with export bar

{ not aluminum, not the huge steel piece that most came with}

just a thin piece of metal that holds the bumper onto the frame-
no blinkers or wiring-
33.5 LBS

chrome front bumper with regular steel, NOT OFF CAR YET

chrome rear bumper with Aluminum support and crunch bars
48 LBS
chrome rear bumper with Steel support and crunch bars
69.5 LBS

front aluminum bumper support, no bumper 12 lbs
rear aluminum bumper support, no bumper 13

so it looks like putting on the lite weight parts will shed off
50 lbs, then the weight difference for the front bumper, probably a grand total of 75-85 lbs

wow you could replace both bumpers with a 2X4 and really save weight!

Don't forget those plastic lights! I hope to get down there this week. Just been a little busy.:)

most definitely, let us know what cars they are on, i forget

my dad is laid off right now, and im going to put him to work :)

Just head back to the Chrysler section and start looking. Most of the cars with 4 headlights have plastic. Get the black rings too.:D

Cool man, thanks for the numbers. I just found a export braced front bumper and installed it on my car, in place of the heavy steel reinforced unit. it was like, night and day difference. took 2 people to lift the heavy bumper, and the other one, i could carry under my arms like it was nothing. it sure does weigh alot. I have the aluminum rear brace, so im not to worried about that, but i might take it and cut the center out, i bet it will be even lighter. i want a aluminum core support, anyone know where i can get one for under 100 bucks : ) ive got aluminum drums, lightweight bumpers, but everything else is still heavy steel and crap.

Wonder what my car would weigh, with nothing but carpeted interior, nothin in the trunk, all these lightweight factory parts, and a single drivers seat. i only weigh 105, so it wont hurt much. maybe i can get the car down to the 3000 pound range. thats my goal, without goin to fiberglass or nothin.

UPDATE-
i weighed the stock bumper with the steel brace, it weighs in at 64.5 LBS!!
now its getting the export brace, and it weighs 33.5 LBS

21 wopping LBS just in the bumper, and now it doesnt have a A/C condesor either-

im thinking of weighing the export brace vs cutting the stock bumper into 2 pieces just enough for the bumper to mount to the frame-
