It's the "contact" switch on the door jamb that has some alarm and dome light responsibilities? Any idea where I can get new replacements? I figure I might as well get a couple of them. The picture is just of the (broken) external plastic part that makes contact with the door.

Yeah. It's the seat belt tension release lever. Any idea where I can get some?

Thanks! Any tricks to installing these? I was told the seatbelt needed to be disconnected from the seat and retracted fully...

As far as install...you need to remove the back seat (upper and lower) and the interior plastic. Then remove the seatbelt bucket and install the tensioner release as you reinstall the bucket...(unless you're good enough to thread that thing in there from the outside (blind so to speak)....

Must be something in the water as this is the 2nd post in as many days about broken seat belt retractors.

Like Earl and I told the last guy - relocate to the picture below - or snap the thing off
All it does is keep the seat belt from retracting when you unbuckle it - and you have the door closed.
Personally, I don't care for that feature

I don't think the bucket needs to be touched.
Other than when you are actually sliding a new one in there.
I mean the bolts holding the bucket can stay.

You are correct. Must be why mine are still on the shelf....that or I'm just lazy....#2 sounds more like it.

I think that hole should just get a plastic body plug put into it and call it a day.
Looks better anyway.
And doesn't scuff the crap out of your door.

The worst part is taking the danged bottom rear seat out and futzing around with that.
Last time I did that - I dented my brand new door sill by kneeing on it too hard.
Sucked!

I like the feature myself. Hell it's the only way they retract half the time. From what I've seen they break from getting rusty. What, rust? On a gbody?

Yeah - really.
I have some that are like the diameter of a toothpick from the rust.
Must seep water in that grommet or B-pillar door vent
Which ain't good for anyone! :D
