I thought this was kind of funny...I put in a sell of some Calloways Nursery stock I've had for about 4 years on Friday..I bought it since they are a local company and the word was they were going to be bought out at over $3 a share so I bought 400 shares at around $0.63 ..they never sold out so my sell offer went thru today.... And looking at their stock ticker for the "Volume" for the day....only my 400 shares were sold and were sold for 2cents more than the closing on Friday...hehe

Calloway's Nursery gets delisting notice from Nasdaq

I see on Jan 23 2004 they got a delisting notice from nasdaq, but there wasn't a link to find out why.

I think that must be a tough business as Wolfe Nursery went out of business years back. Probably hard to compete with the HDs and WWs of the world.

That was about the time the rumor started within their company that they were going to be bought out when I bought the stock. They used to have several stores in affluent neighborhoods around here, but there's only one store left in FTW that I know of now, and I just heard on the news last week that they were closing their San Antonio stores...thats what prompted me to look up the paper work and sell as I knew the price was a little higher than what I paid since I just received the 1st Q statement.

Congratulations on your $8 profit for 4 years investment! However that beats my profit on Worldcom 3 years ago.

Actually it came out to be around $100 profit, it was about 0.63 a share and sold for 0.90 :) Yeah, I worked for Worldcom back then and had quite a bit of their stock, not to mention the money my company lost from them not paying their bills then.....but we stuck it out and once they emerged as MCI they rewarded us for our troubles.
