Get the BFG drag radials, they work better than the Nittos and have much better wear rating than the MT's (though the MT's are where it's at!). Learn how to launch your car when you're ready to run your buddy. The '04 is blown, run him from a dead stop, he'll probably have tracion problems..

12.53@108.47. Consistant low 13's before and after those runs. Car dyno'ed the day prior 248.6 hp/407.8 tq.-WinPep Dynojet

I know this car has good TQ numbers but how can it run 108 mph with 248 horse power? Not bashing him.. I just thought with numbers like that it would be closer too 12.7@100 mph ??

Is it possible to have a solid mid to low 12's streed GN running on regular street tires not DR's. If so whats an estimated cost.

Thanks

The Buick motor makes a lot of TQ. Regular radials limit how much TQ you can plant. Typically these cars wont MPH well, hence why they need the 60 foot advantage afforded by TQ.. to effectively apply this TQ you'll need tires or a very well prepped track. If you can learn to drive the carm, learn to control boost, it is possible to apply more power to the tires progressively.. hard to do if your a novice, hard to do even if your a pro :)

Low budget killer street setup..
1) Scanmaster
2) Fuel pump w/hot wire and adj fuel pressure reg
3) Work on exhuast.. hi-flow cat..catback. Cutout.. etc
4) tune-up and confirm all is well. Timing chain/valve springs may need addressing.
5) Adjustable waste gate actuator(HD)
6) The chip..you will need to decide what fuel you'll be using to make this decision.. and it is this decision that will make or break your combo. As you cannot run a high timing chip on low octane. With a stock turbo... high timing.
7) Decide on race gas or do alky. These come after the chip decision.
8) The tire issue.. the stock turbo will not MPH well.. but make great bottom end power. I'd use a Nitto DR for an everyday tire. Anything less... it will roast them when you turn up the boost.

With tires... learn to tune the motor.. this will take days/week/months/years... but it is this that allows power to be made. resist temptation of bolting on anything before thorough thought process.

With an alky kit, alky chip, drag radial, stock turbo, stock engine, in proper tune.. 108-110 MPH is possible.. the fastest stock turbo car I know off ran 116.5 on 92 and alky.. lots of timing, lots of boost, on top of the tuneup. With 108 MPH and a bad 60 foot.. car will run 12.8's. With a good 60 foot.. 12.2's-12.4's pretty easy.

This is the recipe as I know it. The race gas is neat.. but O2 sensor issues, cost, and availability is an issue. If your not on good gas.. you cant run boost. Unless you use alcohol to supplement the octane..

I do - every time i step into and drive my car.... [Thanx a bunch to Razor ;) for his great product] My car is perfectly streetable.... fast and dependable. I have run 12.7s (1.9-2.0 60fts) on Sh¡††y BFG radial TAs - [NOT Drag Radials] with mph around 110+ with a full weight, heavy ass limited with trunk full of speakers and car care stuff, over 1/2 a tank of 93 octane.... one note is on that pass i broke the tranny so there is much more in it---- This year i've already switched my injectors and the car feels like an absolute beast.... 24-26lbs of boost on 93 is craaaaazy. The key is build an engine capable of much faster and then tune down for durability. - I'd give you a cost but tears are running down my face and i cant read the calculator right  ...... haha just kidding ... mild build ups are all over the place - add to that ALKY and - ding, ding, ding - YOU HAVE A WINNER! Just my thoughts

3'downpipe w/ cutout, air filter, stock turbo, stock intercooler, 93 oct chip, race gas on slicks gave us 12.3 @106 untuned

car ran 13.5 @ 101 on 235/60/15 BFG Radial TA no boost launch...only mod was the airfilter and 2.5 exhaust at the time...
