So NJturbos, let me see if this is right. A child is born, and has some complications. He or she only lives a couple days, then dies. This child cannot go to heaven because it did not "know jesus"? Thats fair.
I'm not NJ but... wrong. Each person is different. Some come to the age of accountablity at a young age...some older. A child that is just born or say a two year old for example does not understand sin and the need for a savior. The same goes for mentally challenged, etc.
I could never place faith in a book written by man, nor could I be persuaded to believe in something by another man, unless he has real proof. Proof I can see, feel, and hear.
No one has ever seen evolution, but believe in it based on science books...that are written by men.
I think churches anymore have become businesses. Too many are all about money. Could someone explain to me why all these new churches need to be so elaborate? Would it not serve god better to build a modest church, and spend the rest of that money on people who might actually need it? I mean, heaven forbid they just use the "old" church. It didn't have all the amnemities of the new one. Church used to be about worship, and faith. Now its a joke. I know people who go to church because they think it will "cancel out" their sins. If those people go to heaven because they believe, I'd rather not be there anyway.
I agree.
I don't understand how one can have such firm beliefs when there are so many possibilities? How do you know you are right?
It's that way in every aspect of life. The only advice I can give is for a person to test everything. When doing so, don't go into it saying, "I'm gonna prove it wrong...i'm gonna prove it wrong." Go into it saying, "All I want is the truth."
Because the preacher said so?
Nope. lol Some of my biggest battles have been with preachers and deacons.
Because your parents said so?
Nope. My parents weren't believers. I maybe went to church twice in my life untill 5 years ago and I really hardly remember anything about it other than it was very dull.

I'll bet all the native americans are upset to know that there ancestors are in hell because Columbus didn't get here fast enough to save them. Interesting read on the other post.
Columbus wasn't sent here to spread the gospel. It's not required that you hear a preacher to know the truth.
God has created so many people just to send them to hell
God doesn't send anyone to Hell. Matter of fact, hell wasn't even created for people...but there are people there.
