We delete posts or threads when they violate the policy and standards of this board. Personal attacks, name calling, porn are a few of the items that will get deleted.

You must have been caught up in "hype" from the other board that we are sitting here waiting to delete stuff? Bruce and I have deleted a VERY small number of items from this board, and all deserved to be.

If a person does not like, or agree, with our standards, they should not post here, because the majority of our members are in agreement of how we operate.

Otto mentioned that people should share information about vendors or people with problems. We agree with his statement and have dealt, and helped solve various problems with vendors and individuals. What usually happens is that ALL pertiant info is NOT stated, or not stated properly, and lots of people chime in just to stir the pot.

It is NOT that we want to "protect" especially our paying vendors, we want to know if they are having or making problems so we could take appropiate action within our means. Our standards are lessened if we allow our paying vendors to treat customers badly or even de-fraud them.

We also understand the reputation, good or bad, of vendors not advertisers here, and give them the same consideration - we call this being fair.

Guys...I used to get bent about this issue too but after becoming involved in a thread that turned ugly (HRParts) for no reason and things were taken in a way they were not meant I agree with Nick and the policy. That thread turned into a wild free for all and it had ZERO merit. The real story was something entirely different than what it initially seemed and it was just ugly. The only way to prevent that is to keep a leash on it.

We as board members should share information but it just should be fact based. Too often things get distorted, blown out of proportion, exagerated etc. I deal with this at work every day and that is where I came to change my opinion on this policy. I can't count the number of times a customer has plunked a part up on the counter and looked me in the eye and just told me a bold faced lie. If challenged the lie would get bigger, and louder and crazier. We would both know it was a lie but the customer wanted one thing and that was satisfaction ....no matter that it was his own fault the part failed. I happen to work for a company that can absorb bold faced lies and we are willing to take care of that however a lot of these sole proprietorships cannot and it isn't fair to expect them to take it.

I don't think they should have a free ride if they fail to deliver or will not return calls etc either but it appears that people like Nick are willing to help out when issues like that arise so why not take advantage of it. JMO.
