what is w.o.t.? and how do you turn it up or down? i think that might be my problem since my car cruises at 3000 rpm's at 65-70 mph ( i think thats to high) thanks

wide open throttle, lol. You turn it down with your foot. If your cruising at those rpm you may not be in 4th gear

I had the same symptoms as you. My torque converter had a broken stator, and I would have to keep the rpm's up to keep it cruising. Also like Bison said you might not be in forth or the converter isnt locking up.

or a poorly adjusted TV cable...my car did the same...wouldn't go into OD...took 2 clicks "OUT" of the TV cable and it was fine.

tv cable

yeah thats what the guy who built my car texted me, that its the tv cable.

push in the gold tab on the side of the throttle body bracket and pull out on the black piece with the cable coming out a "click" at a time until starts acting right. The proceadure for setting the TV cable is to push in on the tab and at the same time push the black piece with the cable all the way in towards the fire wall. Then with the car "OFF" push the pedal to the floor...you will here/feel the TV cable click several times. This is the starting point...test drive, if it is good you are done. If it holds ****s to long and is real harsh take out a click or two...this will soften the shifts and shorten the time between shifts. If it is real soft and shifts real quick between gears push it back in a click or two...this will firm up the ****s and extend the shift points. Takes a little time...only go one click at a time and you will get it.
