Spare Tranny Questions

I have a couple leads on possible spare trannys, I'd like to have one ready to go in if I have problems with the original.

The trannys in question are from regular carb applications. I will have the tranny rebuilt with the good stuff and I was wondering if any thing was different beside the valve bodies in the 2004R's. I realize that internals may be different but anything that can't be taken care of with the hardened/highperformance parts availible?

depends on what tranny it is and which application it comes from servos are different sizes and maybe a few other things like govenors besides vavle bodies. what is the 1 u are lookin at coming out of or the code?

One is out of an elcamino and one I just saw in the paper, haven't called yet. I was planning on swapping to a BRF in whatever tranny I bought.
