Im in the process of putting my spearco intercooler on and the throttle body adapt plate when used clocks the throttle body so the vacuum t is not on top is that right? can i just bolt the throttle body right to the turbo with the other holes on the body or is the adapter needed?

the adapter

The adapter makes the throttle body sit upright, like it should. On my brothers car, we used an 86 turbo and bolted the throttle body directly to the compressor side. It tilts the tb at an extreme angle and the tb bolts are a pain to get to, but everything worked as far as accel. cables and such.

May have to lengthen some vacuum hoses for the back side of the tb port though.

when i use the bracket its tilted without if you use the other bolt holes on the throttle body it sits upright but the throttle hits the intercooler pipe?

hmmm.... weird...

Maybe cool84 might give some insight. Are you using an 85 turbo or an 86 - 87 turbo? Did you reclock the turbo per the instructions? I know the bolts would spin around if the turbo was reclocked.

Just thinking aloud maybe some possible solutions.

well i just bolted right onto the compressor and its almost straight up so i guess it will work

Yeah sounds good...

Problem solved so far...

How far you come along with the install?

You notice in the instructions where it says that to install the spearco setup it would take 6 hours?

It took me and my dad about 12 at least.

We were being careful with cutting the core support though.
