3 lives over in an instant. Those speeds are reserved for a limited access Highway. I travel that road 2-3 times a week. Even at 2am it's a heavily traveled highway. Then again, if the driver didn't pull in front of him it would not be a story.

Cop will loose his career, retirement, freedom and maybe his family as a result.

That was just a bad deal all around.Kids being kids and a cop being a kid.If those cops were racing they are both screwed. Chit happens and it happens all the time.Wrong place at the wrong time.It sucks even more when someone dies. They need someone to point the finger at and the cop is the lucky one

As far as them racing??? I doubt it.

Only they know what was going on that night. Its to easy to monday night quarter back people without knowing what was going on.

I know and have seen local police here go code 2.5, we dont know if they where in response to a call they heard over the radio or not. just because they where not going code 3 doesnt mean they were not responding to a call they heard go over the radio.

Thats just my .02 im not going to say they where in the right or wrong.

What where the Teens doing out at 2:13am? where they drunk? where they high? we dont know.

Go by there all the time myself, not far from where I work.

I could never see flying thru that area myself, just too many businesses and side streets where someone can pull out in front of you. If the cops WERE on the way to a call they would have had their lights and sirens on, right? The other cop was doing over 70 when the other one passed him. Sure he might be in hot water too?

The news is playing that footage a lot now that they got access to it. Imagine being a parent of one of those kids and seeing the instant your child died right on tv.

90% of the cops around here drive like crap,dont use signals EVER and speed all over the place...They need to learn they have to obey the laws just like we have to and when they dont they must pay like we have to...Who cares what the kids were doing out at 2 a.m maybe they have jobs 3rd shift who really cares,the cops at fault 100% so hang him for it!

What is the posted speed limit for that part of the road? 40-45 MPH maybe less??
The teen’s timing could have been off do the speed deference that the cop was doing.

If the cop was in rout to an emergency call I really doubt he would have been charged with a crime.

All that needs to be done here is what I always ask for and that is to Treat the person responsible as if It was ME or any other bum.


What does it matter that two 19 year olds whir driving around at 2:00 AM?
What if it was you coming home from work?

BTW I would bet just about anything that the victims whir checked for any toxins as that could have been a possible defense angle.

The kids are dead. There has to be an autopsy to determine the cause of death. So you are right there would be tox screening done , but not for the reason you think.

Just because his lights where not on doesn't mean he wasn't responding to a call. Some deparments only allowed X number of cars to respond code 3. Others can not but they can and will respond to the call
