speedo question

My speedometer has been erratic and is now to the point where it will only work at 15-20mph past that it stops working completely I checked the cable at the fire wall and its good and then checked at the trans still good. I pulled the adapter from the trans and it looks like the plastic wheel on the adapter is worn ever so slightly.

Where can I get just plastic gear for the speedo adapter?

Tranny shops usually have them in stock but take you old one with you. There are several different ones and if I remember they're color coded.

Count the # of teeth on it. Most will have the # on the gear. Your internal large gear may also be worn.
