Just covering all the bases with this question. Will changing the governor spring and adding a pin have an effect on the spool up? I have recently added a 76BB turbo and was cutting 1.55 sixty foot times (even had two runs in the low 1.40's on the brake). Had a failure of the gov. spring at the end of a run and now after the repair my sity foot times are in the high 1.6 - 1.7. My torque convertor is an old 9"n/l Art Carr with a 3800 stall. My trans is also an old rebuild but is shifting well at 5900 - 6000 rpms.
Thanks,
Jeff

The governor spring and pin will have zero effect on your 60' times or ability to spool up. When you launch, your converter is mostly responsible for what happens in the first 60' barring any transmission problems; i.e. slipping, excess drag, etc.
