In addition to putting the nozzle directly into the up-pipe, I know that it can be tapped right into the outlet of the intercooler. Cleaner approach I think. Question is what are the pros and cons to the placement of the nozzle? I think I remember reading that someone had an issue of alky collecting in the intercooler when the nozzle was placed in the IC outlet, but dont know the details. What do you guys think?

I could be wrong but I would guess the best approach is in the uppipe about 5-6 inches from the TB. I feel that it atomizes the alky very good right there.

Thats where I have mine and I have no issues. I understand a cleaner install would be good but I wont take any chances when I am playing with 25+ psi of boost. Thats where Razor said to put so thats where it is.

Like I said..thats just my opinion...Razor will chime in on this one...

You have to keep in mind if the nozzle is lower then the level in the tank the alky will just pour out. The Intercooler nozzle is a cool sleek way to do it but you'll need a NOS solenoid to keep it from filling the intercooler up with alky. The only down side of that is it's another fail point you are adding into the system. I just went with the up pipe close to the tb and used some of that black tubing to keep it a little on the low profile. Here is a pic of where I put mine..

And here is more info on the intercooler hook up Mark Hueffman did.

Phiilyturbo6 you have one of the nicest engine bays I have ever seen on a TR.

Sweeeeeetttt!!!!!!!!!!!!

i would also guess the 5-6 inches from the TB would be the best spot. not the cleanest spot but probley the best spot for it to be located.

haha I will post for Julio...do you think the motor cares where the alky is spraying from? 25psi and there is a lot of air moving...

i agree alot of air moving i guess it really doesnt matter. but anything lower then then the alky tank level and you will need a solenoid so that kinda limits its to 5-6 inches.

+1 :D

Now.. I had a guy long time ago but the nozzle on the top of the front mount end tank.. nozzle was higher than tank, no hoses under the hood

Results may vary ;)

If nothing else you definitely get the 1st place trophy for the cleanest engine bay in a TR! That is the cleanest engine compartment I have ever seen.

lol I actually drove that car from Philly to Bowling Green and back, and just drove it out to Ohio and back. I put several thousand miles on it a year. Powder coating is the way to go. Stays nice and clean!
