wires

a member on here named blackgn1 makes plug wires. I have set on my car and they fit perfectly, all exactly correct length with keepers. they're msd 8.5mm with gray boots & black wires. about $80 if i remember right. he also makes bigger ones for higher perf. applications. if you don't feel comfortable making your own (like me), or just don't want to, blackgn1's are a good option and are made specifically for our cars. I paid one day & had the wires two days later. Don't know if he's a paying vendor, so I hope I'm not getting hime in trouble by touting his high quality product and superior customer service.

Ive been running CR43TS's for a long while now, no problems whatsoever above 25psi.

What is your plug gap? Mine is .032 and my car has started sputtering over 22 psi. I was going to tighten it to .030 but maybe I should go to .028? Will this adversely affect mpg? I just have one thing to add....I use Valvoline VR-1 10W-30 and 1/2 bottle of ZDDP. Seems to be a popular choice. The VR1 has more zinc and phosphorus than most average oils, at least it says it does on the bottle. Everybody has an opinion on oil though. I see O'reilly carries Amsoil now, which is another popular choice.

For Oil, we've used Mobil 1 15W-50 in my father's 87 GN since new. I changed over from Valvoline 10W30 in mine to Mobil 1 15W-50, maybe not the best idea to change oils, but my engine is happy. Mobil 1 synthetics are good enough for me! The 15W-50 variety is specifically for older valetrain designs per its published spec. I don't know for sure its Zinc level, hence a bottle of ZDDPlus went in with it. Matching Mobil 1 oil filter too. Autozone has specials where you buy 5 quarts & get a free Mobil 1 filter. It's a bitchin deal!
