Spring & pin???

While installing my detent cable this spring & pin popped out of the trans while the pan was down it happened to quick for me to noticed where it goes and how to put it back, also what is it for? Thanks in advance for any help or pics

Put the spring over the bend/loop of the pin. Then the pin goes into a hole on the vb, and the loop sticks up out of the oblong hole in the bracket.




Top left corner of this pic you can see the loop sticking out of the bracket.
