sputtering and ticking when gets warm

I drove my car to work today and everything was fine 5-10 minutes of driving i notice the acceleration starts sputtering and hear a ticking noise. The car got hot quick. I notice that the previous owner broke a bolt off on the end of the turbo causing a exhaust leak. Much help is appreciated

The broken bolt is causing nothing bit an exhaust leak.
What do you mean it got hot quick?
Do you have a scan master to be able to read anything ?

Thanks for your help but I found my issue the coolant was low and the sputtering went away must b a safety feature. Hopefully the coolant was just low and not a head gasket issue. No scanmaster yet but its in the works.

Low coolant doesn't trigger "a safety feature".

Sorry to say the head gasket blew today smoking nasty out the tail pipe
