I have a pair of Stage 1 jrs that are leftover from my Bro-in-laws car. He went with stock style rebuilt units instead.
He bought them from G-bodyparts.com, they are NOT ported, but have unmachined (blocked off) heat (exhaust) crossover,
bee-hive valve springs,
and undercut stems on the intake or exhaust valves, I forget which.
We're just looking to get some money back out of them, $400 plus shipping takes them. They would make good candidates for a port job, as the heat crossover is already blocked, beehive springs, and undercut stems.
As I understand it, you must remove the EGR and disable the EGR in the ECMs PROM to run with the blocked crossover. That's one reason the bro-in-law went another direction.
These were advertised by gbodyparts.com as "used by a major oil company for testing, under 30 minutes run time".
Honestly, they looked like they tested fuel additives, as they had deposits on the backside of the intake valves, so I cleaned them up, and lapped the valves. They should be ready to run, but like I said, they would be good starting point for a ported set.
Thanks for looking, Bill
