Stage 2 block on/off center

Still looking i want to go off center though to make life a bit easier any 017 blocks around?

There are no 017 blocks. The casting # for a 4.1 liter Off center block is 25500016 and the GM part # used to order one was 25500017.

I thought stage 1's were 016 and 2's were 017 i thought i seen someone posted a 017 block a while back! Are 016's stage 2 or 1?
Weber's has a casting # chart and its shows 016 as a stg1 and 017 as a stg2.

All Off center 4.1 blocks are machined from the same 25500016 casting whether Stage I or Stage II. Here's a link to an original GM brochure which lists the P/N's for Stage I and Stage II blocks. This is where I think the confusion originally came from.

There are actually some pictures in the archives on GNTType.org. that show an engine Billy Anderson built stating it's on 017 Off center block. I've owned quite a few 4.1 Stage I and II blocks over the years and I've never seen one. I'll stop short of saying they don't exist but if someone has a block with an 017 casting # I'd like to see it.

$4000 for brand new 153 block and crank is to much ? I wonder how much you looking to spend for a stage II block
