I have 2 stage 2 iron blocks for sale.
One is finished, with 4" bore, and was used
in a naturally aspirated, 350-400 horsepower
application in a lotus europa autocross car. $2500.
I switched to an aluminum TA block (and
lost 50#), which is reason for sale. The other block is a new
spare, but will need one sleeve due to a small casting
flaw near the top of one cylinder. I'll try to post a photo
if anyone is interested. I can have my engine builder
sleeve it if you like. $1800 without, $2000 with sleeve.
I also have 2 complete(production block) iron motors, one 3.8, the other 4.1,
3.8 is 9:1 o-ringed setup for forced induction
4.1 is 11:1 naturally aspirated autocross motor with external pump wet sump.

I used it as an interim motor while we were working
on the iron stage 2.
I hope I'm using correct terminology here- The block is a stock,
production car unit from a salvage yard, cryo treated. Is it correct to refer
to that as "stage 1"? Anyway, forged diamond pistons, turbo crank, hydraulic
lifters, roller rockers, 6000 rpm redline. Mildly ported iron heads. Custom aluminum pan, moroso external oil pump, ARP hardware,
port-matched edelbrock intake... ask me more questions. . I called my engine builder just now to have him pull the file
and and I'll post again if it seems appropriate.

thanks for your interest

Ah... no not a stage I block. There is such a thing as a Stage I block it was produced before the Stage II blocks and I believe has thicker main webbing with provisions for 4-bolt mains and 14-bolt heads though they didn't come with those machined.
I'd like to see a picture since I'm considering external oiling for my 4.1 since its going to a chassis that is conflicting with the stock oilpan. Should be a good motor for someone to start with except for the compression part. What is the bore on it so people can start looking for pistons if they are interested in it as a good foundation for a 4.1 buildup.

Thanks- I edited my post to reflect the fact that the complete motors use
regular production blocks

Bore on the 4.1 production motor is 4.000 (engine builder checked records),not 3.995.
Used stage 2 block has cross bolted end caps, splayed middle caps.
Last three digits on block are 153. Bore is 4.020 (I'd originally listed
it a 4", but my builder corrected me)
Builder will check new block (one sleeve-requiring) for #'s, etc.
Sorry for my ageing memory.

Any pics of the production 3.8 and 4.1 motors and what prices are you asking for each, including the stage 2 motors?

Used 4.020 bore stage 2 Block, no defects $2500
New (4.1) stage 2 block with small casting flaw (needs 1 sleeve) $1800
The above are just blocks (w/bolts & caps, of course)

I'll shoot photos next weekend if you are interested in the
production-based motors. You'll note a description of the 4.1 in a previous post above. Cost me 7k. I'll take 2k. Motor is good to go without need for freshening.

The 3.8 is o-ringed, 9:1 iron w/hydraulic cam intended
to be supercharged. May need freshening, may not. Ran perfect
when we replaced it; never tore it down. $500.

You pay shipping, or pickup.

I was looking for pics of his car for another member on here.
(Australian dude with stage II in a little road racing deal)
Dan posted them on a lotus forum I use to visit. I had an Elise
I know it's an old thread.

Still have lotus; car is apart, developing aero package for it.
Still have the above listed 4.1 2 bolt 11:1 external wet sump motor
3.8 is gone, as are the stage 2 blocks
thanks for the interest
