It almost sonds like the tourqe converter solonoid but I would think you could feel the trans not letting go. It would be the same as leaving a car with a manuel trans in gear and stoping with the brakes. You can feel it. Does that make scence?

It makes good sense, but the car gears down just fine and does not feel like the motor is still racing while the car is trying to stop....maybe I'll try the fuel gage and yank the one off my white T and give 'er a try

Can you post a few #s? Warm it up to full temp and grab AF-IAC-TPS-BL @idle.

You will need that FPG where you can see it when condition show up.

Ok, here's my numbers at Park idle after about 8 miles

AF - 05-06
BL - 117
TPS - .44
IAC- 63-67
LB - 47-53
INT - 124-134
MAL - 00

Did you ever check the egr valve? I would check it first before I went to the hassle of dropping the tank. When the car cold and off, pop the black cover off the egr and stick your finger up under the egr. Press up on the diaphragm and relase to see if it moves freely. If it does, take the hose off and press up on the valve. Put your finger over the nipple and see if it holds vacuum. If it fails either test then replace the valve. Start the car with the hose off and press up on the diaphragm (careful, it gets hot quickly) and see if the idle changes. If it doesn't change the egr may not be seating properly or the passages may be clogged and it may just need to be removed and cleaned. If it does change then hook the hose back to the egr and see if the diaphragm moves. If it opens at idle the you probably have a bad control solenoid.
I've had the same kind of problem with my car twice. Both times it has been the egr. The valve was carboned up and wouldn't seat, which didn't set the ses light, and the second time the solenoid was bad, which did set a ses. Either way it wouldn't hurt to pull the valve and clean it and it's a lot easier than dropping the tank.

Well, checked the EGR according to instructions by Corsair, but everything checks out OK......

Does the car still have the original catalytic converter? When they go bad they cause all kinds of running issues when the car reaches running temp.

I replaced the exhaust and cat from sitting so lon...not that the cat or pipes were bad themselves, but the welds were rotted so I just put in all new...

The only things I see here BL is a little low and the IAC is high.
I would confirm fuel preassure during the condition.

You can set your IAC with the throttle plate screw. Adjust to 20 at full temp at Idle. You will have to readjust your TPS after the IAC is set. Though I don't think this is your problem it won't hurt. You can get your BL up by bringing fuel preassure down. (BL 128-130)

Gotta get that FP gauge where you can see it.

Rick, thanks for your patience sticking it out with me...I'm on it today and give an update....Glenn

Still don't have it figured out yet, however, Eddieowe4 showed the proof that it's the tranny's TCC solenoid...I think....so I ordered one today. I as much as I hated to go off the "originalality" factor, I installed the Hotwire kit today....fuel pressure readings in drive seem to be just fine.....I'll keep ya updated ;)

Stalling

OK, so whatever happened with this? My original WE4 has been doing the same thing every now and then for a while. While coming to a stop or at an idle stop it stalls. On occasion it will not start again for 20 to 30 minutes.
