Just curious if anyone knows specs or by experience off hand if the Starion FMIC is more efficient vs stock GN ic with the Dutt neck or would they both rate about the same? Curious to know because I am finally purchasing my GN tomorrow and I am stoked but checking on options for IC's on the budget route and don't wish to think about the powerstroke because it's just to much for my needs and don't want to block all the air going through the front. TIA

Regards,

Nick

Maybe a co2 intercooler spray would be the ticket for you, though it runs the $350 range. It could be mounted inside the intercooler shroud. And it can be maunually or pressure controlled.

I am thinking about doing this. Much less fabrication required than the powerstroke, and it may actually cool the intercooler better than the front mount.

I think one of the board members here has an affilation with one of those web sites, maybe a group purchase can be set up to lower the price for an introductory entree into the turbo buick market.

I have a conquest and the front mount is great for it. It wouldn't help the 3.8 at all in my opinion. The inlet and outlet are too small.

I don't know exactly how big a stock intercooler is cause mine came with a CAS v2 but I'd venture to say, like FlyinGN said, the stock cooler would outflow the starion cooler. Our stock turbo is bigger then some of the upgrades for that car.
