Recently did the fuse link relocation kit from Casper (GREAT KIT).
No shorts, wires are properly located, insulated, everything good and tidy.

Connected the battery, turned the key to start the car and now the start kept running until the I disconnect the battery.

Checked cables, fuse links, even the starter and is working OK.

Will check the ignition switch but will like to check with others before digging deeper.

Check your starter solenoid!
I had the same thing happen to me, turns out the solenoid rotated after I re-installed a new positive cable from the battery . Must have loosened the solenoids position & allowed it to rotate just enough to trigger the starter motor. It kept cranking even with the key removed! I had to remove the + battery cable at the battery in order for it to stop.
Ended up getting a new starter , problem fixed

I had a remote starter years ago. Never missed a beat. One day the car started all by itself . Ran out with the remote an shut it off. Car started right up an drove fine. Go back in the house an it did it again ! WTF ??? Dog was eating the other FOB

Finally solved my issue, as 1KWIKSIX said, the solenoid cable was twisted inside the starter and was jumping voltage from the battery toward the solenoid.
When turning the key, the circuit was completed and the battery was suppling current to the solenoid, hence the issue.

Thanks guys, be on the lookout when tightening these contacts at the starter!.
