Do the GN starters work on our TTA's without issues? Whats the part number?

I saw a search recommend an lt1/lt4 starter ... so any starter for that engine will work on ours, no modification? Do you have a part number for a recommended version?

It would be nice to get a small high torque setup ... I think I also need to use a Ford Solenoid between the ignition and the GM solenoid , my car acts up when it gets warm.

The stock starter only has 25k miles on it and it doesnt want to engage (voltage at the ignition?)

Thanks :) ---

Yes the LT1 starter is very popular, much smaller and lighter. Try Kirbans, Postons or an auto parts store. You can also get the from a GM dealer. I got mine from a guy in Fla. I think his name was red turbo t. If he's still around he will be on turbobuick or turbobuicks. There,s no issues to install but you will have to shim it. Extend the gear out, install the bolts, put a 1/8 inch drill bit between the gear and flex plate teeth and use your shims to fill the gap at the starter mount. Nothing to it. It' been a really long time since I put mine in but I would say the shim kit is undr $10. HTH

I've had a chevy small-block mini starter in my TTA for 5-6 years now, no problems, turns that little motor over like a mo-fo. I did have to shim it though (as explained above).
