Ok guys, starting some tuning today with the new turbo(Pt54) and Intercooler(23 Row SLIC).

Scanmaster Readings at idle
AF-05-06
L8-36
Bat_ 13.2
INT- 128
BL-133
ATS-78
TPS- .42
IAC- 63
MAL- 24--guessing thats the VSS

Went WOT and the car pulls REAL hard...lol...but im only at 14 PSI.......guess I gotta put a few more notches in the RJC BSTC...My 02's were 839 which I belive is Rich. Now is the fact that im spraying alky at 14psi is what making it rich?

I am sure when I bump it up to 20-22 it should even out, but my FP is set to 44psi line off, and running the TT alky chip.

IAC seena too high. Read the TT instructions again, you are missing RPM, CLT, and 02s at idle.

If the VSS is inop, your timing will not drop in high gear. Did you make Eric aware if this so he could make the chip work without it?

Also, what is the alky gain set on? Meth or denatured in the tank?
How much boost did you ask the chip to be burned for? Don't go making fuel adjustments in the chip yet. More boost is needed.

02 at idle is all over...usually around 786-804.....no eric was not made aware of the VSS...:o...My coolant at idle is 157....rpm is around 850-875

I am using denatured alky...gain is set on 4.5...I have used both meth and denatured and both work the same as far as I can tell.

The chip was burned for 23-25 psi

I am guessing that the car is running rich due to the low boost. The chip is 23/21 timing, and 23-25 PSI so at 14 PSI is must be pig rich.

Tommarrow I will turn the boost up to around 18psi and work my way from there. With my old TE-60 I ran 21-23 PSI and the 02's were around 795-804....

I turned the RJC unit about 3 turns and it is almost maxed out and was still at 14psi. Now I got the ADJ wastegate arm and turned it 3 times and now its at 18psi with lots more to turn on the rod....at least I can change it now...

Your timing will be at 23* in all gears if the speedo sensor is not showing any MPH. Let the car get in the 165-190* range and post the numbers. I have used both but the meth seems to work better for me. No knock is the effect you want so whichever fits you best.

The chip will keep showing rich until you get to the boost range the chip is burned for unless your have other issues. Keep at it. Post some numbers in 3rd gear WOT.

Ok took car out again, and at 20psi the 02's are at 810 at WOT in 3rd gear...better.

Now, I have raced my car for over a year with a code 24, I know the VSS is not working but my car runs perfect without it, just does not display MPH on SM. I did NOT know that due to this my chip was pulling 23* timing in all four gears. Can I lower the timing in 3rd and 4th to 21*????

The only way for you to do that is to lower it in 1st and 2nd gear to 21*. You chip is thinking the car is in 1st gear all the time since it sees 0mph. Making adjustments to 1st gear fuel, and 3rd & 4th gear timing are not good without the VSS.

810 and no knock is safe in my opinion. Now as you add more boost if may want to dip down to the mid 700s. Add fuel to keep it up near 800 to be safe and remember No Knock. If it starts to knock but the 02s are ok, pull the timing back to 21*

I belive I can make fuel adjustments in all the gears
at once,
rather then
just a single gear as you said. Well that's what the chip instructions
say. Also the vss is located were? I belive the connection
is in back of the speedo

Yeah, parameter 1 is WOT fuel in all gears. Parameter 2 is 1st gear fuel. So say you need to add 5% for high gear but the car spools and launches fine. You would pull 5% in 1st gear to keep it where it was before you added the 5%. Now your fuel change only effects 2nd and 3rd gear.(If the computer could pickup the VSS) Get what im saying?

Does your speedo read any mph on the dash. Yes the connection is there but it has to be connected on the trans too.

Speedo works fine on dash, on the scanmaster its at 0.
Guess I got take the speedo out...lol

YAAAAY...I got the VSS working..., I pulled the speedo out and the VSS was disconected...:o...The screw was missing and the the VSS was just laying there. So I pulled the speedo cable out and greased it, then connected the VSS to the back nice and snug and BINGO...my scanmaster now displays my MPH...

BIG THANKS to jasjamz for helping me out, now I can fine tune my car with my TT chip:cool:

Congrats Man! Now you can really get into tuning that car in. Keep the timing the same and get your boost up to where you want it. Make sure you keep the 02s in a safe range and No Knock at all. Be Safe, Have Fun!

when you were doing those runs, the scanmaster would not have been displaying any knock without mph. you would not have known if any knock was occuring unless is was audible. hopefully the O2's were true and you didn't blow anything.....speedo not working cost me headgasket. i didn't have the answers and was beating on the car.

Yea...I have a audible, but never went off, and 02 was around 790 at WOT. My scanmaster never showed knock come to think of it, i honestly never knew that

before getting the speed sensor working, nothing would have gone off. i had the scanmaster, the gauge and the audible detector....because the computer was not seeing mph, none of them were working....i don't like the audible detector...it goes off even when th scanmaster reads zero.
btw, when i said audible in your case, ...i meant you hearing the detonation with your ears.

Nope never heard any knock via my own ears...thank goodness for the alky i guess. I had no idea that the VSS was needed to read knock retard

Interesting, been getting a Code 24 myself and the speedo IS working on the scanmaster! What is up with that??
