Hey all,
I had a 86 GN about 10 years ago... I just drove it and enjoyed her. I sold her to buy our 1st home. Now I bought a T-TYPE. It has a new gm short block and trans. Built back to "stock" specs other than shift kit. Stock turbo, injectors, (Even STOCK/FACTORY chip installed). Factory fuel regulator (non Adj). It does NOT have a cat. Boost runs up to about 14-15. (Street cruiser).
Problem im having is that it starts up really rich and stays rich while running. As in light blue "fuel smoke" comes out of the tailpipe on startup. A little hard to start too. Turns over 8-10 times before startup. (My 86 gn would start 1-2 turns). And the rich fuel smell gets into clothes and inside of car. Wife hates the smell. Could the cam sensor be adjusted for better timing? The car came with a scanmaster hooked up (MY GN did not have this), sooo im kind of a noobe at the tuning aspect of TRs. Im not looking to race it, Just like it to drive and enjoy.
Any ideas for a starting place would be good, Thanks, James
