Steering column replacement issue

My two cents: the column is collasped due to a frontal collision. Are the upper mounts tight in the mast jacket or are they loose? You should be able to pull the shaft to make it longer, BUT, I'm still going with a collasped column. The shop manual has aprocedure for checking and measuring for a collasped column. Personally, I wouldn't use it.

Well, for sure, it's too short. Pushed in by a frontal collision sure seems like a reasonable cause. Like I said earlier, you can't just push it in, but I bet I could knock it in with a 3 lb. hammer. Again, just exchange it for another or return for a refund.
