While removing my steering wheel, I broke the white plastic tube that holds the horn wire. No clue how to replace it or even remove it. The white tube is part of the quick disconnect system for the horn button and the steering column. The wheel is now removed. Don't know if the plate underneath is removable or not. Would like to install an after-market wheel but, don't see how to route the wires.

I'm pretty sure it just pushes in and turns/spring loaded. You might try this with a screwdriver depending on where it broke off. Sounds like a trip to the boneyard :D

Bad news, you busted the turn signal cancelling cam. To replace it you need to run down to AutoZone and rent a steering wheel puller and lock plate compressor. It looks like you already have the wheel off, the plastic cover that has been painted gray needs to be pulled off and the lock plate needs to be compressed. The snap ring that holds it on needs to be removed and than everything comes off. AZ should have the cam in stock, maybe on the HELP! rack as these are used on every GM car with tilt wheel, take your old one to match up, make sure its for a tilt wheel. Reverse procedure to put it back together.

Thanks. I saw two cams at pep boys. Will pull it off and compare. The "plastic cover that has been painted gray". Is this the piece that needs to be removed with the lock plate compressor? Or is the lock plate beneath it? If so, how does the plastic cover come off?

The previous owner of my car broke that too, although I plan to replace it, the horn still works..

Ryan, the plastic cover just snaps off. PITA to get off. I usually leave it off if it gets too mangled . Its just a dust shield.
