well here it is again, finally got an adj reg. and turned down the FP to 45 PSI. threw 3 gals of xylene in the tank, tuned the boost up to 16 #'s and i only ran a best of 15.3 @ 92mph. O2's were around 790-820, 0 or very slight KR like 0.9 being the higest. i did notice some wheel spin around the 60' line. but i was hoping to finnaly hit 14's:mad: but i guess maybe next time. next mods lined up are timing chain and valve springs.

3 gallons of xylene mixed with how much gallons of gas? Its a good idea to check the plugs after a run it should be a whitish/brown color. Try a set of AC Delco's CR43TS and tightly gapped it at .035

i havent checked the plugs yet, but before i changed the reg i checked them, they were showing way rich cause my FP used to be super high. i mixed in 3 gal of xylene with a full tank. and i was running CR43's gapped at .35

back to the drawing board

I'm as stumped as you. I don't know of any advice to give you that you already don't know. By the way did you change the egr valve? When I ran at the track I ran a 94 mph, but I think It's beacuse I was at about 17-18 lbs of boost. Keep us posted. I like the mods you did so far. Good luck:) Also how much lbs. of boost are you launching at? I was only able to launch at 0 lbs. because of the rich condition.;)

well, my dad tells me im launching the car wrong, cause i was getting a good amount of wheel spin. so i think thats hurting my ET's, those tires dont help with traction very much. yes i did change the EGR but i didnt notice any difference. i was launching at around 0-1 PSI and i would blow away the tires after the launch if i floored it. but on the good side the turbo spools REAL quick now.

The tires on the car do suck as far as racing. I bought the bfg DR's 275/50/15 for the car but never put them on. Just a question, how come you added the xylene if your at 16 lbs of boost? I'm sure you want to stay away from knock but at 16 lbs. I think thats a little over kill. But then again I don't know how much knock you get on pump gas. How much knock do you get on 92 pump gas? Some tips you might or might not know, don't fill up the gas tank up to the filler neck beacuse it leaks where it conects to the tank. It does'nt leak if it's not filled that high. Also check the passenger side fender well. One day I was driving and ran over something that cracked it and the crack grew and grew into a hole. When it rains the engine bay gets a little dirty. I tried to buy a new fender well but they discontinued the passenger side(postons). You can buy one at a junkyard or just pop rivet something to fill the hole. I wanna hear you went 13's in the quarter!!!!!:D

92 pump gas should be more than enough for 16lbs boost. But allways be safe than sorry. And as for the gas tank, if the gas tank neck is leaking I think its going to affect they way it feed fuel under boost. Maybe someone else what to shine in for this.

Hey (turbov6). One day I'm gonna need your sevices on a new stereo. You better give me a (special) price too due to the cleaning abilities you now have;) Anyway FTC, I don't feel the leak will cause any problems because fuel press. is built pass the pump not in the tank.

The leaking neck will have no effect except "leaking" when filled past the leak.:) Remind me not to smoke by your car though.

well on pump gas the car woudl knock on only 12 PSI. i put in an auto meter boost gauge and it will read 12 and the stocker was reading 16. and when i turned it up to 14 i was getting knock in 2nd, i didnt even get a chance to reach 3rd. oh and i did notice the fender well the first time i changed the oil, but i dont think its going to be a big problem. and for the neck i guess thats why teh rear of the car always smells like unburnt gas haha, i always thought it was cause the car ran soooo richa and had no cat.

hmmm....maybe try some 92 octane and a can of nitrous racing octane boost....or you can meet me at the track and try some synergyn octane boost if youd like to try that.....

as far as slipping....its a real thin line from traction and slippage....i think your gonna need some drag radials (gotta really heat them up for them to hook well) or some slicks...

best way though is to read the plugs...
