Still holding gears too long

whats up everyone, well ive been having this ongoing problem with my car not shifting at WOT. its a 87 GN with 100K, and today i checked the gov spring and it was still there, but i changed it with a TCI one i ordered anyways. but the problem still persists. at WOT it wont shift until i let off the throttle it will wind up to 6K+ on the tach until i let off. TV cable adjustment just affects the part throttle shifting, not at WOT. it seems to happen in every gear as long as im at WOT, part throttle it will shift fine so i dont realy know whats going on, any help would be appreciated. ohh and the speedo doesnt work if that matters, it reads way slower than it should but the odometer and trip works. thanks

But has some one been in the trans & maybe messed something up. Say a shimmed TV limit or something, but you have high sihfts @ part throttle too.

Somebody smarter than me will chime in I'm sure

Ck the failsafe ckball under the tv linkage. If it is in there and the hairclip and spring are gone it will do this too. Also if the ball is STUCK in the plate it will do this too. easiest way is to just remove the hairclip spring and ball and go.
