Still wanna be a Democrat??

A young teenage girl was about to finish her first year of college. She considered herself to be a very liberal Democrat but her father was a rather staunch Republican.

One day she was challenging her father on his beliefs and his
opposition to taxes and welfare programs. He stopped her and asked her how she was doing in school.

She answered that she had a 4.0 GPA but it was really tough. She had to study all the time, never had time to go out and party. She didn't have time for a boyfriend and didn't really have many college friends because of spending all her time studying.

He asked, "How is your friend Mary."

She replied that Mary was barely getting by.. She had a 2.0 GPA, never studied, but was very popular on campus, went to all the parties all the time. Often she didn't show up for classes because she was hung over.

Dad then asked his daughter why she didn't go to the Dean's office and ask why she couldn't take 1.0 off her 4.0 and give it to her friend who only had a 2.0. That way they would both have a 3.0 GPA.

The daughter angrily fired back, "That wouldn't be fair, I worked
really hard for mine and Mary has done nothing".

The father slowly smiled and said, "Welcome to the Republican Party".

Being on the "fence" is not what I consider a wise place either. I will never mind being called a conservative. The only Democrats I don't consider liberals are from the Deep South. The "choice" in an election is choosing the lesser or two evils, not choosing the type of person you wish to be your leader. Last time we had three choices in an election, we ended up with a president that was in office with a minority of the voters backing him. I make my decision on which I vote for through ideology, not loyalty. PERIOD. If some from the Democratic Party would run a person of integrity and character, I would have no problem voting for them. What I have seen in the last 43 years of candidates from the left, is a loose knit group of splinter factions and vague special interest concerns trying to force a more socialist form of government on us. Sorry, I don't wish to "get along" for the sake of tranquility. Wasn’t it Kruchev that said, "we will conquer America from within"? All I can say is "I'm sorry" to Thomas Jefferson for the way that we have let liberal lawyers and law makers bastardize what started as a great document.

P.s. The right to bare arms in the Constitution was placed there so the people could overthrow a tyrannical government if it ever got to the point of over burdening the people with bureaucracy and not providing for the common protection of it's people. Seems like we are getting there huh?

See how far you get trying to overthrow the the government. That check may have been put in place for just that reason, but when it comes down to it there is no way out. The Civil War is evidence of that. The South wasn't allowed to leave the Union (regardless of whether the reasons were good or not).

All politicians are crooks, and I certainly agree on the lesser of two evils thinking of voting.
