stock appearing turbo's

What is the latest and greatest stock appearing out therefor sale today?Assuming one has very few mods and stock torque convertor.Would a Razor alky kit give more bang for the buck?

The top part is the Stock Appearing Series ( TA in front of the # ), these will have the inlet bell bolted on to look like the stocker. They get huge pretty fast so be careful with what you wish for.

The TA49 is probably the most popular stock appearing turbo, IMO, it's too small and with all the new turbo technology is getting quickly surpassed in performance and spool up. Hell, if these billet wheels make it out at the end of you year you can get a PTE Billet/Boosted BB turbo in a 66mm size that will probably spool like a TA49 but make over 200hp more.

sonseeker,i just installed razor's alky in a bone stock gn and with a walboro in tank pump, a tt chip, dump tube,and a set of hoosier drag radials the car is a lightning quick.years ago on my car i went to the bigger turbo and injectors,after driving this combo i prefer the alky and stock turbo with the stock converter.

Thanks for the info guys.I have been offered thru this post a ta49,te44 and a gt6152 which one would be better? They all say they need a rebuild smoke issues.Why would all these have the same problem? Where and how much to rebuild?

sonseeker,before you look towards the bigger turbo's try to figure out how fast you would like to go.for instance,et,mph,street combo,track combo.all three turbo's you mentioned above have been on 10 second cars at 120+mph,and the stocker has been 11.3's at 116mph,so i don't how to answer the question of which is better.

I would go GT6152, I have this on my Turbo Talon. :smile:

Rebuilds are around $400 from places like Precision Turbo & Engine - Turbocharger, Intercooler, Fuel Injector, Performance Parts & more! and Limit Engineering so keep that in mind.

Why they are smoking could be a slew of things, debris in the oil, too much oil pressure, hinked return line backing up on it, sucked something in it and my favorite, beat to hell.

How about a te61 is it too large fro stock convertor?
