Stock belts with race seats

I know, I know...a silly question. I am curious if it is legal to run an aftermarket poly style seat with stock seat belts. DOT or NHRA/IHRA legal, that is. Don't worry the car isnt fast enough to need a cage, just trying to shed any amount of weight I can by getting rid of the stock seats. This is a weekend/race only vehicle.

NHRA rules require aftermarket seats to be bolted to the back bar of the roll bar or cage, and a safety harness is then also required.

Anybody know about IHRA? The track I typically go to is IHRA and pretty loose on most rules.
