Stock DP...

How much of a restriction is the stock downpipe? I'd like to upgrade my turbo but don't really want to change my DP.

The cast elbow is a big restiction, but you can run high 11's with a stock down pipe. The pipe would be a must for anyone installig a bigger turbo in my opinion, though. Spend the money for both, or just wait untill you have the money saved. It's a big gain with both.

You can also go with a ported elbow and a 3" aluminized steel DP for more of a factory look. I did this, and upgraded to a TA-49, and the turbo spools up instantly...

thats what we did for years .. mid 11s @118 ... although we did go 11.9s @ 114 with the stock "junk" just depends what you are looking for out of your car ..

I'd like to go 11s with a stock look but I'm nowhere close to that now. I'd like to run a TA60 turbo but I didn't know if the stock elbow would kill it. I can do the porting if that's a big help.
