Stock forged steel replacement crank

We have just received a shipment of 4340 forged steel cranks from Eagle. These are made external balanced, and can be used with stock balancer and flexplate.

For someone that want to rebuild their engine and have a new, replacement crank MUCH stronger than the original cast piece, at a cost slightly more than a used, refurbished crank.

The supply is limited, and not sure if Eagle will make any more of these?

The price is $699 plus actual shipping cost.

Is this a drop in replacement or will the crank need to be machined?

No machining of the crank is necessary. Since the fillets are different on any forged crank vs. a cast crank, the bearings may need to be chamfered depending on type and brand used.

just wondering what is the difference between this eagle crank and a cat crank that is sold for like the half price?

Chris K - Nick is selling one that is EXTERNALLY balanced (like stock) so that you dont have to purchase a new balancer and flexplate (which is required with the CAT cranks). This is a drop in replacment for the factory GM crank.

As far as I know, CAT has never done an external balance Buick crank?

We looked at machining a CAT or Eagle crank to change it into an external balance, but way too much machining would need to be done. That is why we had Eagle make us a batch of the stock replacements units in external balance.

We have already sold a few to customers that want the extra security of a new forged crank instead of a used, and abused, piece that needs work.:)
