Thanks guys :) So you (all?) think a TA/TE 61 or 62 wouldn't be too large for the stocker to handle?

I'm never gonna finish this car!:(

I'd use a ball bearing 66. :)

I think a 61 in a conventional turbo would be perfect.

Make sure they fit in there first. ;)

Nice Vette man, my mom has a 60 red w/ white insert and original 283. With your problem of a too small intercooler, check into helping it with somthing cold. Water sprayer or a nitrous/CO2 spray kit. They will drop your temperatures, safe for motor and I/C, and keep from re-fabricating uner the hood. I own a sport compact and alot of guys are runnin that w/ their cars and getting some good numbers. If you want more info on them look at some WRX forums, there is a bunch of literature about it there. Also, could you make a under car scoop for it like the GN's had? I made and extention that sits about 2 1/2 inches below the car to grab more air, if you have room it would help. The dutweller neck would also be a world of help in that tight space. Back to Japan, if you check out Blitz (I/C company) they might have a more efficent small I/C than our 16 year old ones. Also Ramchargers have some stock location I/C's, but I don't know the diemensons. I know the height problems under the C1 hoods, Good Luck.

Thanks Nick..
I know once I get the car running I'll be able to sort thru things. What I'm after is a repeatable combo that I don't have to de-tune for the street. A more efficent I/C will be something I will look into.

Absolutely! :)

You'll likely be pleasantly surprised how well your combo (as-is) runs! :)

Unless you're wanting more of a race car than a street car, the factory IC (cleaned & pressure-tested), with a Dutt neck will perform quite nicely for you! :)

Hope all goes well for you---you're getting there! :)

I have a whole new respect for guys that build cars from the ground up. I've been working on the wiring harness for weeks!

I hope for your sake that it gets finished asap. I love to drive my moms. Her vette only has a 283 small block. With a tuned GN motor that car will be a blast to drive. The little 283 moves the car quite well and has enough power to light up the rears whenever the urge is felt. Yours will be a oldschool rocket. Are you gonna put a manual or auto in it?

Nick

I don't think anyone has put a manual behind one of our motors. Things happen too fast to try to shift it too! Plus how would you keep boost up?

Bring it to Englishtown this weekend.

Prolly get it finished and a few passes in it. ;)

Lotsa Buick folk should be there.

Don't I wish!!
My dream is to take it there when they have the all vette weekend....just to see the looks on the purest faces:D

Get a blow off valve and you wont loose psi. My WRX has one with a stick and that keeps pressure. The sitck or auto decision is totally dependant on the driver. I like sitcks better, but for constant launches auto is better. In my moms 60 the stick is so much fun because you have to put alot of leg into the clutch, and alot of force to move that shifter. Hard as **** to drive, but fun as hell.
